Outsmarting Einstein

Writer Robert Evans wrote an article about a group of scientists from Switzerland and Italy who have proven that there are microscopic particles that can travel faster than the speed of light. Einstein theorized that the speed of light was a universal constant, so the findings negate this theory which for over a hundred years has been considered a Standard Model of Physics.

Einstein's idea is part of his theory of special relativity which states that all physics is relative. Like looking at a deceptively small hill from far away that turns out to be bigger than anticipated once you walk closer to the base of the hill. The size is relative to your distance away from the hill.

By proving Einstein’s theory incorrect, the scientists inadvertently opened a giant can of worms for science fiction aficionados to explore theories on time travel, teleportation, and other theories once thought impossible because of Einstein’s theory.
